How to select a CCTV Installation Company

You have identified a need for a CCTV Installation in your business both outside and inside.  There are many CCTV Installation Companies to choose from and you will need to draw up a list as to the selection criteria.

You will find a list of CCTV Installers in your region by searching the internet.  If, for example, you are based in London, you can use a search engine such as Google or Yahoo to search for “CCTV Installation London” or if you want to be even more specific and are in Mayfair, you can search for “CCTV Installation Mayfair”.  Either of these search engines will present you a list of CCTV Installation Companies for you to choose from.  Study the testimonials of each CCTV Installation Company and try to get a feel for their reputation.  You can then contact each company and ask for basic prices.  Most CCTV Installation Companies will carry out a site visit to establish your exact requirements, and will provide advice on the models suitable for your business, the locations of the cameras, how much recording time you require, and other aspects of the CCTV Installation.  The CCTV Installation Company will also discuss your budget, terms of the CCTV Maintenance Contract  and level of support they can provide.  You will most definitely require a 24 hour back up service, and, once the CCTV Installation is in place, would not expect to pay a call out fee every time the camera requires refocusing.  This, however, should not be necessary once the CCTV Installation Company has completed the set up, unless the camera is tampered with.   There should also be training sessions for any employee who will be dealing with the operations of the CCTV Installation and this should be provided as a matter of course by the CCTV Installation Company.

Once you have selected two or three CCTV Installation Companies, ask each of them to do a site visit and provide quotations and written details of their CCTV Maintenance Contract.  By following this process and, having studied the documentation you will be able to choose the CCTV Installation Company you prefer, depending on price, delivery schedule, time it will take the CCTV Installers to install the equipment and your requirements for the CCTV Maintenance Contract.  All equipment should have at least a one year guarantee on parts and there should also be a warranty on the labour commencing from the time the CCTV Installers complete the CCTV Installation.   You should also take into account the amount of disruption to your business and specify how long the CCTV Installation will take before signing a contract.

Basically, the selection of a CCTV Installation Company is the same as when you are making any other purchase which will be dependent on the pre and after sales service provided by the supplier, your own budget and that the item meets your requirements.
